Q: How much will it cost for my child to attend Kindergarten?

A. This will depend on how many hours your child attends each day and if you have attested 20 Hours ECE hours with us. We do not charge fees for 20 Hours ECE, see our Fees Policy for further information. 

 

Q: When can my child start?

A. Usually after three years of age, this will differ between kindergartens depending on the number of children waiting for a place.

 

Q: What days and hours will my child attend? Can they attend mornings instead of afternoons?

A. This will be determined by the agreement negotiated when your child is due to start. Our Kindergartens have different operating structures. Please contact the Kindergarten of your choice or phone the Association for further information.

Q: Do children just play at Kindergarten?

A. Children don't just play, they actively participate in a challenging environment where each child's learning goals are identified, planned for and met through the activities provided.

Q: Why do some Kindergartens have mixed age groups?  

A. Some Kindergartens offer this structure to best meet the needs of their community. Siblings are able to attend together and the mix of morning and afternoon sessions meets the needs of many children.

Q: Do children have to be toilet trained before they can attend?

A. No, at Kindergarten teachers will assist children to learn toileting routines in a supportive manner.

Q: Do children have to be immunised before they can attend?

A. No, all children are welcome. Health regulations require all early childhood services to keep a record of your child's immunisation status.
